That is the song I am singing tonight while Humdinger plays guitar. This will be our warm-down. During our meeting a few nights ago, Niles said, "Yeah, Koko, I was gonna ask you if you could sing at the campfire tonight or for warm-downs." The others were like, "Yeah, Koko, you are really good, you should." It's funny because I don't really burst out in song a lot (well...maybe don't take that too literally), but I don't exactly understand how they think I sing well. I mean, maybe it's because I am constantly singing under my breath or because I am always humming a tune. But, for real, I am not trying to be vain - I just can't see how they would come to that deduction...nonetheless, it made me feel very good when they asked. Coming attractions will be: Dust in the Wind, You First Believed, Both Sides Now, and Goodbye to You. Classics.
Also, I have the kids TOTALLY believing that my real name is Kokomachalinga. They even call me by my "name" when they really want my attention. It is so funny, but I must laugh on the inside.
Right now, I could be playing Capture the Flag (which would be super fun), but I have to set up for the Dance Contest we are having at Evening Program tonight! It's gonna be a blast! It is Hit Music Day and I was going to spend the day in character as G Unit (yes, Cindy, like 50 Cent's posse), but I wasn't about to wear an afro wig for 15 hours while the kids tried to pull it off. Oh no. I am not that brave.
One random thing: One of my kids, Kurt, made up a song about Tobasco sauce to the tune of "I Feel Good." He sings it something like this:
Whoa! I feela good! (duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, dund)
With Tobasco! (duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, dund)
I feela good! (you get the point)
It's spicy! (...)
Pepper! (...)
It's hot! (...)
It's da best! (repeat)
He even does the musical bridge section...it is HILARIOUS to hear him sing this song. Keep in mind this is an 11-year-old kid who HATES rap (especially 50 Cent and Usher), but loves ACDC, Bob Marley, Nirvana, and Coldplay. Remind me to tell you the funny things he says at the table during lunch and dinner.
I have the day off tomorrow, so I am going to catch you all up on the events of the past few days including my weekend (which was forever ago) in Toulouse. Speaking of, I kinda want to go there tomorrow (it's Monday and the trains are actually running), but I think I'm gonna chill because I haven't had time off in 8 days. Plus, this session is almost over (kids leave Wednesday morning at 9:30am) and afterwards, we get a 2 day break.
Nothing happening with Leaf and Beef, which is a good thing. Leaf gets cuter by the day, but I don't think he wears deodorant. He kinda smells sometimes. Beef is a good guy - he doesn't really DO anything exceptionally well, but he tries everything and is extremely patient with the children. More later.
Also to come: Comments about YOUR comments! Soon, I promise!
I miss you all too much!
I'm out.

Kelly - your mom is so totally right about you being entertaining....I think you should publish this ala Carrie Bradshaw and Sex and the City!!! I so could totally see you at book signings in NYC!!!
And your mom is right again (imagine that!) about you going out for Idol! She and I have a tradition now and how could we beat seeing you up on stage???
I could see you as a member of GUnit's posse...I love 50 cent; so you would have a fan in that genre too!!!
I think I will stick with Kdogg for while though.... :)
Hi's and hugs from the fam!
