CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Hooray for Colin John! Thank you all for your posts, I appreciate knowing very promptly (especially Mom who was up at the butt crack of dawn to let me know) what is happening in GB! I love him already, but I really thought he was gonna be a girl. WOW, I cannot believe there is another baby in the family. Well, whomever reads this, please give Jane and family (there's 4 now!) my congrats and well-wishes. I hope to see Colin as soon as I can! I send lots of smooches from France!

Also, a shout out to Brianna, who is a new auntie! Congrats, B! I love the name Cole St. Croix Dickey, too...it's really unique. Make sure to check your blog, I posted a comment for you!

Thanks to Dad (wicked is MY word and thanks for letting me know about the water breaking), Mom (Nutella is SO MUCH MORE than just peanut butter! It is a hazelnut spread...I think you can buy it in the states and you should try to because it's FABULOUSO), Brianna (the Bunny - I LOVE THE NAME!), Jed (you are RIDICULOUSLY FUNNY, thanks for the updates - also, Bdiddy and Andra are 2 of my most terrific friends), Grandma Barb (don't jinx me, I don't want to fall for Beef!), Grandma (Love you!), the Metz Family (patience is a virtue), and Niki (geez, woman, do you ever work? Vacation, reading blogs, Great America...Ha, do I sound like the Village staff, or what? He, he. I thought about you two days ago because we were on a bus going to a swimming pool and I was reminded of Great America! Then, you wrote about it! (Weird.) I hope you have a great time without me! Sad. Say hi to Tommy and Reese for me!) for posting.

Seems like everyone had a relaxing 4th of July holiday while I slaved away at camp in a foreign country with 50 hyper children. Wonderful. I have been so busy and sore these last few days that I can barely stand up. It's been really cold here (I'm wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants in the middle of July!) and I cannot, for the life of me, keep track of what day of the week it is. To me, today is Mardi Gras Day, not Thursday (right?).

There are some funny things that French kids do when they try to speak English. (1) They confuse "hungry" with "angry." Think about this - these words are easily confused when you cannot say "h"s, as the French language does not pronounce the letter "h." (2) This is even funnier. When they try to say "cheating," it comes out as "shitting" because it's difficult for them to pronouce the English "ch" sound. So hilarious when we are at the table and Chris says, "You were shitting, you were shitting!" He really means to say, "You were cheating, you were cheating!" (PS - This is referring to arm wrestling. He thinks I cheated because I made him laugh and then beat him. I think he's just a sore loser.)

So, two days ago was Valentines Day, which was a BLAST! We made Valentine cards in English class and the kids freaked out because they didn't want to make anything for the opposite sex. For the skit during Congress, we did the Dating Game in which Big M was the Bachelorette, I was Bachelor #1 (G Unit -the name for my super ghetto character), Humdinger was Bachelor #2 (Danger Zone - the name for a game character we have at camp, so the kids already know this dude), and Beef was Bachelor #3 (Silver Tornado - the name for the character who picks up clothes in the rooms and brings them to Congress every day). It was so funny, I had jeans on with my pant leg rolled up and a chin strap beard with a tank top, sunglasses, and an afro wig on. Also, I had a huge clock around my neck with tons of beads to serve as bling. I was making comments like, "Mmmm, girl, you lookin good!" and "Stop gettin all up in my face, foo!" I even did my ghetto walk - it was a proud moment. McFly was in the audience along with Niles and Pearl - they could not stop laughing at me. Seriously, I play this character so good that it's a favorite at camp now. I'm pretty much a legend.

Then, we went to the pool for a few hours after lunch. It was fun, but kinda cold and I got pushed in a lot. Luckily, I wasn't feeling too irritable. On the bus, I had to sit in the front seat (by French law, children cannot be near any doorways or front windows on buses) which was actually really cool because I got to see a lot of the beautiful countryside around the Pyrenees. It was amazing to get such a panoramic view.

To be continued...

Next time on "Adventures in France: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly" - what happens at the BOOM? Will Koko dance alone? Does she successfully do the Worm? What day was it yesterday? What day is it today?

Sorry folks, but you will have to wait until tomorrow. FORTUNATELY, I get to sleep in the tent tonight which guarantees a shitty night sleep. Wish me luck!

More later, peeps. I gotta check it.

Cheers to my loyal readers,

Koko and the Gang
