Hey y'all in the US!
The kids are gone as of 20 minutes ago and the beers are already cracked. Funny thing is, I'm not kidding.
I actually did have a splendid time with this nightmare of a group; most were angels and I was sad to see some of them go (especially this one little boy, Sean...he was adorable and I have pictures).
So, how was my day today, you ask? (I have to pretend you are all here...I miss everyone so much when I read your comments and emails! I promise to get back to you all as soon as possible!) To begin, I got to bed last night around 2am. I was exhausted. The BOOM was a hit, as I said in last night's post, and I woke up this morning around 8:30am very sore from performing my super-fantastic Worm! I'm so awesome. (I haven't changed yet, I'm still vain.) I also discovered that I hadn't completely washed all the glitter lip gloss off my face. Gross. "Brunch" (apparently an American phenomenon that goes unknown in France) was at 9am (not really a brunch, that's breakfast to me!), so I got my ass up and trucked it to help set tables. We had okay pancakes (not as good as yours, Dad) and runny scrambled eggs with weird ham stuff, but it was edible. We (the counselors) suffered our way through the meal and I went to shower after finishing. Aha! Another shower! I took 2 yesterday! (Amazing!)
Then, we had Congress (when I get a chance, I will explain a typical day at American Village) and finished off with a little graduation ceremony for the kids. It was cute; they made their own caps and received diplomas. Lunch was next (pizza, veggies, and chocolate mousse!) and then the kids were taken over by their teachers! Hooray! They stayed until 5pm while we cleaned up the site for the summer session that starts here next Thursday. Following our tidying up, I painted my nails (I feel like a girl again!) and listened to music. Ahh, I just chilaxed and made a good time out of it.
(Remind me to tell you all about a guy named Bort whom I worked with all week. I have wanted to cry several times because of certain things he has said to me. He's sitting right next to me, so I feel weird writing about him at the moment.)
Now, I am writing to you all and wishing I could chat with you for a few seconds. I miss each and every one of you who writes me! In an hour, our cab arrives for Vienne and then, we are training it to Lyon where we will chill with some other counselors for awhile. Our train to Toulouse leaves at 11:50pm tonight and we arrive there at 6am tomorrow morning. I am excited; Toulouse is supposed to be gorgeous and I really am anxious to see Thebe.
According to this first week, the other counselors tell me I will fit in well with the culture of American Village. They, too, run around half-naked and are all potty mouths around here. It's beautiful. The only hard part about this job is that you meet so many cool people and, since, everyone gets moved around, you don't get to work with most for long. It's easy to get attached to people when you are with them almost 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Also, you can tell A LOT about people by how they act with children. Everyone says I am doing a very well with it being my first week and all - this is very encouraging to me as this is really a very difficult job! I appreciate all of your support as well!
Okay, now I have to go finish packing. Thanks for all of your comments! I love you all and wish you a good weekend!
Kells (I still don't respond to KoKo - it's hard having people call you by a name you made up for yourself!)
PS - Mom, please guilt trip (I'm kidding) Tyler and Jason into reading this. Thanks.
PPS - Dad, no, I have not received my package yet (sorry, Sara, I made it sound like I had gotten it already!), but I will let you know when I do!
PPPS - Brianna and Sara, please post at least one! I love your emails and will respond soon, but I wanna you to post, too! (I know, I'm demanding!)
PPPPS - Also, Ash Mag, Leah, and Jeanna, are you reading this? Just wondering.
;) MUWAH - lots of kisses for the week!

Hey Kel! You always seem to make the best of a bad time....heck, you never REALLY seem to have a bad time.
We are celebrating my parent's 50th this weekend, here in GB. My whole fam will be here - all 10 of us! LOL.
Just wanted to say hi - and I do read your blog daily - even reporting to the family what's going on with you.
Have a great weekend!
Hugs - Cindy
