True story. That's what I am today. A dirty girl. This should not surprise most of you who know that I dislike showering every day. (Disclaimer: it's bad for my hair!) I meant to clean myself in the see-through boxes they call showers this morning, but I woke up too late. I could take one now, but we are going on a hike in a few hours and I'll just get all gross and tic-ed out anyway. Is that how you spell tic?
Speaking of bugs, the flies here are AWFUL. No, really, it is like a breeding camp for flies. They are constantly buzzing around my head and I am starting to get super annoyed. Maybe this is because I am stinky.
Camp is cool today; there is a massive cloud that has settled itself directly over the mountains above us, so all we can see is a misty haze among the little village below. It's still so beautiful. The huge mountain in the distance (we can see about 5 mountains from where we are) looks different every day. When a storm was brewing over it last night, I kept calling it Mordor, like the mountain where the Dark Lord resides in the Lord of the Rings. Mu ha ha ha ha! (It's my evil laugh from afar.) We have fun here.
I had my first taste of pastis today. This is an extremely strong liquor that is to be mixed with water and tastes like black licorice. It was okay. I am sure that a half glass of this stuff is enough to make me drunk. Seriously. Beef said that once you've had a good night with this stuff, it doesn't taste as bad anymore because you remember how much fun you had with it. Maybe I'll have to give it a try. Also, the wine here costs, like, one euro. This is about one dollar and 50 cents (sorry, I am on a foreign computer and I can't find the dollar sign) in the US.
So, what's going on in the states? Anything I should know about? I got a package from my mommy and daddy today (thanks Mom and Dad!) and got my first glance at American gossip magazines! "Nick fights for Jessica! Are Angelina and Brad really together? Sandra Bullock's secret wedding!" Ohh, it's good to have a little piece of home...the other counselors are enjoying these very much as well.
Nothing more to say, except that I miss you all! Glad I am keeping everyone laughing with details of my days at camp! Rest assured, these are all true accounts of my adventures. I am for reals. (My goal is to get everyone peeing in their pants at least once! Ha, ha! Just kidding!)
I hope pictures will be up soon!
Love,
Weirdo "Stinky" McGee
PS - Thanks for posting Miss Laura! I miss you and hope you are doing well!
PPS - Hi Cindy! Like I said, I hope pics will be up soon! And maybe I will find myself a real hunk of a French man here. It's funny you say that because the French guy that cut my hair (oh, yeah, I got a haircut in Toulouse on Saturday) told me to find myself a handsome French man to love. I am definitely not against it!
