Good Cheese For Dinner

Yep, that's right, we had really good cheese for dinner. Packaged (which isn't as fresh or as flavorful as Brebis cheese), but good nonetheless. Plus, we had the good kind of bread. Wow, I am spoiled over here.

I love it here. It is so relaxing and energizing and exciting all at the same time. It is really refreshing to be active everyday and fall asleep (well, not without difficulty sometimes) pretty exhausted every night and only worry about the little luxuries that make you feel like you're still a person, not a big blob of nothingness. I love that the part of France I am experiencing is not touristy at all, rather, it's very rural and wholly French. I love that I have the opportunity to get to the core of my coworkers - there is no bullshit, no games, no drama...just good people willing to help and try and love each other for the short period of time we are together. That is the funny thing about this job is that you get to know people purely for their rawness as a human being, not for their past or their present or their future, not for their ex-boyfriends or parents or friends, not for their schooling, not for their jobs. Just for their good days and their bad days and their mood swings and their rawness. Feels good to be known for who I am with no layers, no protection.

So, I went on that run today and nearly died of heat exhaustion. I left around 2:30pm and could only run for a little less than half of the time - I was so hot I couldn't breath. Regardless of my brush with death, it was nice to get out and exercise by myself. Good time to listen to music and wind down - things that are hard to come by these days. I returned around 3:45pm just as Niles was pulling in the driveway with Red Hot and Wheaty. (PS - Red Hot has the hairiest chin I have ever seen on a woman.) It was at this time that I found out they had went to Spain WITHOUT ME. I was mad I didn't go with Niles in the first place, but..whaddya gonna do? Afterwards, I ate a little snack and read outside for a while before the kids arrived back at camp from their hike. (Side note: I told Booba that I went on a run today and he seemed pleasantly surprised. I think he likes me. Duh. I am super cool. Oh, and...the other day, he was coming back from a run with only his shorts and shoes on...OMG, let me tell you that he looked FINE. Oh so excited to makeout with him - we will get to a definition of this later, Grandmas. Ha, that sounds weird.) Since then, I have showered, eaten some dinner (A porkchop, a sausage, some AWESOME potato salad - would you like some potatoes with that garlic? - some AWESOME tomato and corn salad, good Babybel cheese, a slice of watermelon, some apricots, and great bread. Mmmm.), and the three of us who were off today made the smallest campfire on earth (I have pictures) and roasted marshmallows to make smores. So funny, and oh-so-good. Aside from the fact that the marshmallows we have are strawberry flavored and they bought cookies that are made for body builders (aka they have more fiber and calories than a seven course meal), the smores were delicious! True story. In a few minutes, I have a meeting to attend, then I will probably finish this and go to bed in order to perserve the sleep I have so diligently caught up on today. (Not before calling Leah to solidify her plans to visit lil ole me! Ho-friggin-ray!)

Well, before I go, I gotta say thanks to Dad (I'll be so happy to see you smile in person!), double Grandmas (okay, so my definition of "making out" is: definitely kissing with tongue, and possibly some upper body action depending on the person - no sex of any kind or below the belt love), and Brianna (hi my little chocolate chip cookie, I laughed a lot at your funny little post...I never knew we thought the same way about the "guy" thing...that's really weird! I miss you, love!)...

Tomorrow is Halloween! Boo!

Missin you, lovin you, thinkin ofin you! Ha, I rhyme!

Love,

Carly Simon, except I'm So Vain (PS - I just sang this song with Hum on guitar a few nights ago and it pretty much rocked. Raven asked me if I am going to be the next Britney Spears. I said yes.)
